HIKING TRAILS
PREMUŽIĆ MOUNTAIN TRAIL - The basic idea of constructing a high trail along Velebit`s ridge was opening the mountain to tourism. Construction of the trail began in 1930 and was completed in 1933.Construction of the trail opened access to the most impenetrable parts of Velebit to local people, numerous scientists and visitors. There are no steep climbs on the trail so that people not used to mountaineering can easily manage it.
Along the trail and its vicinity, there are several mountain houses, giving shelter to mountaineers. One of the most famous is "Rossijeva koliba" (Rossi`s hut") at the foot of Pasarić kuk in Rožanski kukovi. There are several climbs branching from the trail, leading to some of the most beautiful peaks of northern and middle Velebit-Gromovača, Crikvena, Šatorina and others.
